The practice of family law, in particular, requires compassion, patience, and, most importantly, pragmatism; my preference is always to take a reasonable and practical approach to the resolution of cases.
Meet Kate
Kate Bennett is a Partner and Practice Group Lead with the Family Law group at Harrison Pensa. With more than 15 years of experience practicing family law, Kate advises clients on all issues arising from separation and divorce, including decision-making responsibility for children (formerly custody), parenting time (formerly primary care and/or access), child and spousal support, and division of property.
In addition to representing clients in family law litigation, Kate is experienced in Family Mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration. She helps clients navigate sensitive matters through a collaborative and solution-focused approach. Kate also assists with the negotiation and preparation of domestic contracts, such as cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts.
Kate is a member of the Personal Rights Panel of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and represents children in child protection and high-conflict parenting cases.

Kate provides her clients with honest assessments about the costs and benefits of the various process options available to them in litigation, negotiation, or various alternative dispute resolution. Serving the interests of her clients is her top priority.

Kate provides guidance and legal assistance to clients; often during one of the most difficult periods of their lives. She gives thorough and frank advice, enabling clients to make fully informed decisions about how to resolve the challenging and complex issues related to the end of a marriage or relationship.
