Role Description The Beauty Advisor is a full-time, on-site role located in St Thomas, ON, responsible for providing personalized beauty consultations and product recommendations to customers. Day-to-day tasks include greeting customers, assessing their beauty and skin care needs, demonstrating products, and offering advice on cosmetics, skin care, and related items. The Beauty Advisor supports retail sales by maintaining visually appealing displays, ensuring shelves are stocked, and assisting with merchandising and promotions. This role also involves processing transactions, handling returns or exchanges, and maintaining a clean and organized beauty department. The Beauty Advisor works collaboratively with the store team to deliver exceptional customer service and uphold Shoppers Drug Mart’s standards of care and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Cosmetology and Skin Care knowledge, including understanding of different skin types and appropriate product solutions.
- Strong Product Knowledge in cosmetics, skin care, and beauty brands offered in a retail pharmacy environment.
- Customer Service skills to provide friendly, inclusive, and personalized assistance, with the ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Retail Sales experience, including upselling, cross-selling, and achieving sales targets while maintaining ethical and customer-focused practices.
- Additional beneficial qualifications: prior experience as a beauty consultant or in a similar retail role; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks; flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
