Children, students and accessible travel

Specialized Transit requires a separate eligibility review. Low-floor conventional buses and Specialized Transit have different access and booking arrangements.

  • Children aged 5 to 12 ride free with a child fob from LTC offices. Children aged 4 and under do not need one.
  • Full-time Western and Fanshawe students pay a transit fee through tuition. Check your school’s rules and whether your program is covered before buying a separate pass.
  • LTC says every scheduled conventional bus is a low-floor accessible bus. Each has up to two wheelchair or scooter securement spaces. You still need to be able to reach the stop.

Walking and cycling on the Thames Valley Parkway

The City’s current guide puts the Thames Valley Parkway at 45 kilometres long, connected to more than 150 kilometres of other pathways. Older sources may still show a shorter distance.

Use the official map and check the construction notes before setting out. The paved trail is shared by people walking, running and riding. Follow signs and give other users room. The pathway is not a promise of a direct or open route to every destination.

Driving, parking and bus-only lanes

Check the signs where you park. Overnight street rules change with the season, and posted restrictions still matter. Use the City’s overnight parking page for current permissions and passes.

For a municipal car park, check the current lot information rather than assuming all lots have the same price or hours. The City lists new lot rates from February 1, 2026.
