Payment and zone checks

A nearby zone number can belong to a different lot or street. Municipal payment options include meters and Honk; do not assume a City promotion applies to a private garage. Parking Services can answer questions at 519-661-4537.

  1. Check the lot or street zone and the permitted parking period.
  2. At a Pay n Display location, follow the meter instructions and display the required receipt.
  3. For Honk, enter the correct licence plate, zone and parking duration.
  4. Check the confirmation before leaving. Keep it for a payment enquiry.

Overnight street permission is eased until November 15, 2026, subject to signs and other restrictions. Winter passes are available between November 15 and March 31 when weather allows. There are 15 free passes per licence plate; additional passes are listed at $5 each.

Passes are issued no more than 48 hours ahead. Before midnight, choose the next calendar day. Between midnight and 5 a.m., choose the current day. The pass starts at midnight and does not need a printed display.

Snow events and last-minute checks

The City can post a snow-event restriction in the overnight registry. Check it again before parking even if you obtained a pass earlier. A saved pass confirmation is not proof that no snow restriction applies tonight.

For a visit extending into the next day, check the daytime signs too. Overnight permission and daytime paid parking are separate matters.

Ticket payment or screeningUse the official City parking page and the ticket instructions

The City says you have 15 days to pay a parking ticket or request screening to dispute it. Read the ticket and current City instructions for the applicable procedure. Keep a copy of the ticket, payment receipt, location signs and any relevant permit.

Use the official City parking page to reach payment and screening. Explain the issue clearly and keep the request confirmation. Paying a private operator and disputing a City penalty are different processes.

London parking questions

Does an overnight pass override a snow-event restriction?

No. Check the City registry before parking. Snow restrictions can be enforced even if a pass was obtained earlier.

Can an accessible permit make every City lot space free?

No. The City’s two-hour off-street exemption applies to designated accessible spaces. Ordinary spaces in the lot require payment.

Does paying for a municipal lot reserve a parking space?

No. City lots are generally first come, first served. Payment does not establish a reserved space. Read the posted parking period, maximum stay and any restrictions at the exact lot.

What should I check before paying with Honk?

Confirm the licence plate, exact zone and parking duration. A nearby zone can belong to a different lot or street. Check the payment confirmation before leaving and keep it for an enquiry.

Do all London municipal parking lots have the same price?

No. Use the City lot directory and signs for the chosen lot. Rates, maximum stays and monthly availability vary. A price at one City lot does not apply to every municipal or private location.

Which date do I select for an overnight parking pass?

Before midnight, select the next calendar day. Between midnight and 5 a.m., select the current day. The City issues passes no more than 48 hours ahead. Check the registry again before parking.

Does an Accessible Parking Permit allow parking in a No Stopping area?

No. It does not override No Parking or No Stopping restrictions. Display the original valid permit clearly and use it only while the permit holder is driving or being carried.

How do I start a dispute about a City parking ticket?

Read the ticket and use the official City parking page for the screening request. Keep photos of signs, relevant permits, the ticket and your confirmation. Follow the stated deadline rather than a private lot’s process.

Who can answer a question about City parking payment?

Contact London Parking Services at 519-661-4537. Have the lot or street, zone, plate, time and payment confirmation ready. A payment to a private garage is handled by that operator instead.
