Counter, cheque, bank and card routes
Pay in person on City Hall’s first floor, normally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A night depository is on the southwest corner. A mailed cheque must be postmarked on or before the due date; do not mail cash. Tax payment mail goes to Finance, Room 407, 300 Dufferin Avenue, PO Box 5256, London ON N 6 A 5 M 6.
Financial-institution counter payments must be date-stamped by the teller by the due date. Online banking is also available through banks. Lookup, balances and tax certificates
The instalment lookup needs the property account number and shows instalment amounts. It does not confirm payments or the current balance. Ask the Tax Office if you need account status or do not have the number.
A tax certificate shows annual taxes, instalments, balance including arrears and local improvements. The 2026 fee is $63, with usual processing of three to five business days after physical receipt. Provide the address, roll number and email with the request and payment. Water certificates come separately from London Hydro.
Late taxes incur 1.25% on the first day of default and the first day of each following month. Neither staff nor Council normally remove penalties or reminder fees, except a rare city billing error. Call 519-661-4540 weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or email taxoffice@london.ca.
